Wyevale appoints RELEX to operate supply chain
Wyevale Garden Centres has enlisted RELEX to run its supply chain.
Wyevale chose RELEX from 10 other solution providers through a competitive tendering process, "to address key issues ranging from forecasting to promotions and replenishment".
Wyevale said: "WGC has two key product groups: general merchandise and horticultural products, which includes short-shelf life and rationed products. Both supply chains are managed manually and are highly pressurised environments, with many supplier constraints, rules and limited availability. Working with RELEX, WGC will begin to transition towards automating and improving these processes for higher sales and increased profitability."
Wyevale trading director Dan Zinner said: "With the help of RELEX we expect to see better forecasting, increased availability, reduced wastage and a more streamlined business process. Furthermore, the system will help us to better prepare for promotions and high demand periods such as Mother’s Day and Easter, ensuring we have the right product, at the right place, at the right time."
RELEX group chief executive Mikko Kärkkäinen said: "We understand the complexities companies like Wyevale Garden Centres face and have equipped them with the supply chain solution needed to enable operational efficiency, improved profitability and above all greater customer satisfaction."
RELEX and WGC expect to go live with a pilot in September and fully roll out the system in the New Year.
