Wren Opens New Delivery Depot In South West
The UK’s number one kitchen retailer, Wren Kitchens, is expanding its logistical operations in the South West of the country by opening yet another transport hub to cater for increased customer demand.
With a fleet of 140 lorries and seven transport hubs across the country, Wren has focussed operations in Avonmouth, Bristol, where it has recently opened a brand-new transport depot. The retail business delivers over 2,000 kitchens every single week and delivers 99.2% on time and in full to its customers.
Strategically located near to major network arteries such as the M5, the three-acre site has created over 30 local jobs such as drivers, porters, supervisors and office staff. Over 50, 7.5 tonne and 8 tonne branded Wren lorries will serve the depot and its customers across the South West.
This additional site brings with it a wealth of benefits as it reduces road miles and Co2 emissions with the nearest depot being more than 100 miles away, thus creating a more efficient and greener transport service.
Lee Holmes, Wren Kitchens Transport & Logistics Director, said: “We’re proud of our award-winning delivery service and we’re always looking at ways to further advance our operations with our customers at the heart of everything we do.
“Positioned at Avonmouth means we are centrally located in the South West, as we continue to enhance our logistical presence across the length and breadth of the county.
“We are also proactively positioning ourselves for the future as we aim to support the capacity of electric lorries and ultra-low emission zones.”
The Avonmouth depot has been purposely developed for Wren’s requirements with the likes of a lorry washing station, offices and a Quartz worktop storage facility.
