Wren Kitchens Reports 25% Rise In Turnover

The latest financial data from Wren Kitchens shows that in its tenth year of trading, the company exceeded turnover of £600 million.

Figures for the year ended 31st December 2019 showed a 25% rise in turnover to £612 million (£490m in 2018).  The company has been identified as the fastest growing business in the UK kitchen industry - trade or retail - by Mintel.

Pre-tax profits increased by 75% to reach £65m and EBITDA rose by 45% to reach £91m.

Wren ended the year with 89 showrooms (now 93, the company having recently opened a new store in Worcester) and 4,716 employees, nearly 600 more than in the previous year.

Within the Companies House filing, Wren's MD, Mark Pullan, said: “The directors believe that the company still has significant opportunities to open further showrooms as it currently has no representation in many towns and cities across the country, and is operating with less than half the number of showrooms of its major rivals.”

During the year, Wren received planning permission to build a new manufacturing facility on its Barton-Upon-Humber head office site.  The building is nearly 1 million square feet in size and is expected to cost the business in the region of £120m.  Mr Pullen said that the facility "will provide the company with the capacity it needs for its immediate expansion plans in the UK."
