Wilko Opens New Store in Eastbourne
Local shoppers were out in force today when wilko opened its doors at Eastbourne Shopping Centre, Eastbourne.
Queues outside the new store started forming at 8am with more than 170 shoppers keen to get a first look at the new wilko store.
The first 100 customers received a £5 gift card and goody bags, containing wilko Christmas decorations and a candle. Whilst shoppers on the day also enjoyed free cupcakes.
A ceremonial ribbon cutting was led by Head of Estates, Mark Highfield, wilko Eastbourne Branch Manager, Tom Sowry and Amber Woodward, a representative of Alzheimer’s Society who attended on behalf of the wilko Charity Partnership. The Wilko Charity Partnership supports Save the Children, Alzheimer’s Society and Teenage Cancer Trust.
Wilko Eastbourne branch manager, Tom Sowry, presented the charity partnership with a £600 cheque for all three charities.
Wilko Eastbourne Branch Manager, Tom Sowry said: “We have been overwhelmed by the support of the local people, it’s a very positive start to our residence here at the Eastbourne Arndale and we can’t wait to welcome more customers to the new store.”
