Wilkinson searching for a new head of multichannel
It has been reported by Retail Week that Wilkinson head of multichannel Simon Hathway is set to leave the value retailer in September after six years at the company.
In his tenure at Wilkinson, Hathway has also held the positions of head of buying – in which time he helped set up the Hong Kong office - and head of retail.
As head of multichannel, Hathway launched Wilkinson’s mobile site. He was also “instrumental” in last week’s relaunch of Wilkinson’s desktop website to the wilko.com domain name from wilkinsonplus.com.
Wilkinson has been driving its multichannel offer forward in recent years with initiatives such as click-and-collect. It also piloted an out-of-hours click-and-collect service at its new format store in Crawley, which opened under the trial Wilko fascia in August last year. It has also introduced in-store wi-fi.
In 2010 Retail Week tipped Hathway as a Retail Leader of the Future as part of the Rising Stars Awards.
A statement from the Wilkinson board wished Hathway well for the future.
Wilkinson is now on the look out for a new head of multichannel, who it aims to have found by the time Hathway exits the business.
