Wickes Publishes Gender And Ethnicity Pay Gap Report
Wickes, the UK’s home improvement retailer, has published its Gender and Ethnicity Pay Gap Report for 2024. The report highlights the progress that Wickes continues to make to build gender and ethnicity equality at every level in the business.
There has been an improvement in the median Gender Pay Gap which has reduced from 0.07% to -0.77% in favour of women. This illustrates the progress that continues to be made to address gender equality at Wickes. The median ethnicity pay gap has increased slightly from -0.74% to 0.87%, however remains negligible.
Wickes mean gender pay gap has increased slightly from 6.51% to 8.65%, whilst the mean Ethnicity Pay Gap reduced from 0.04% to -3.14% in favour of Underrepresented Ethnic Minorities (UEM), largely due to an increase in UEM colleague representation in management positions.
Sonia Astill, Chief People Officer at Wickes, commented on the results: “I’m pleased that we’ve been able to report further improvements in our median Gender Pay Gap and our mean Ethnicity Pay Gap, reflecting the focused actions we continue to take as a business to address equality within Wickes. We’re passionate about creating a culture of inclusion and diversity where every single one of our colleagues has the freedom to be and is empowered to flourish. There will always be more to do to build equality at every level, and I’m delighted that the tremendous work that our teams are doing continues to deliver results and get us ever closer to achieving this goal.”
