Wickes opens in former Focus DIY store in Somerset
DIY and home improvement company Wickes will open the doors of its new store at Old Mills in Paulton on Wednesday (October 7).
The company has invested £2.2million into transforming the derelict former Focus store which has stood empty since 2011.
Work began on transforming the derelict building in June and construction workers were still on site on Tuesday completing the final details before opening.
The official launch will be celebrated with a weekend of festivities starting Friday October 16 when visitors to the store will be treated to 15 per cent off everything all weekend and cupcakes.
Darren Wilson, Store Manager at Wickes Midsomer Norton, said: "We've designed the store to make it easier to shop for your home improvement project - the layout will help guide you to everything that you need for your project, in one visit.
"You'll find inspirational room sets, worktops, appliances, baths and taps on display and our expert Design Consultants will be on hand to help you plan your dream space. We're delighted to be one of the first stores in the country to offer the counter service which has helped create a new DIY shopping experience."
Mr Wilson said: "Our store provides the area with a go-to destination for quality products that offer real value for money and cater for a variety of DIY needs.
"We're confident that the new store will provide everyone with the tools, materials and advice they need to complete their project, from those embarking on their first DIY project right through to experienced tradesmen.
