Wickes Opens First New Store in Scotland for Ten Years
On Friday Wickes opened their brand new store in Westhill, Aberdeen - their first new outlet in Scotland for more than a decade.
The latest development, located at Arnhall Business Park, was officially opened by Northsound 1 presenter Beth Wallace, and shoppers had the chance to win an array of prizes across the morning with a ‘spin the wheel’ competition.
The new 32,000 sq ft space offers a range of home improvement products for both trade professionals and customers looking to improve their own homes.
With a spacious mezzanine showroom, a brand-new bathroom selection centre, and kitchens designed for every budget, the store is set to inspire and help customers plan their dream homes.
In addition, customers can utilise Wickes’ free design service, with expert advice from the store’s Design Consultants, alongside Wickes’ trusted installation service.
The store also includes a paint mixing station, an outdoor project centre, four disabled parking spaces, EV charging points, and two dedicated 30-minute Click & Collect spaces, to make the shopping process as easy as possible for all customers.
Local shoppers can also benefit from delivery directly from the store to the surrounding area, with free delivery on orders over £85.
The Westhill store will also be the first from the retailer to include solar panels from SolarFast, as part of the new Wickes Solar offering.
What’s more, as a thank you to customers, the new store is offering all shoppers a 15% discount at checkout from September 6 to 8.
Sarah Taitt, Chief Property & Services Officer at Wickes, said: "We are thrilled to be opening a new Wickes store in Westhill.
"Our first Scottish location to open in over 10 years, the new store will offer residents of Aberdeen and the surrounding areas a wide range of home improvement products, services, and expert advice from our knowledgeable staff. We look forward to meeting our new customers."
The new store will also bring the Wickes Community Programme to the area, offering non-profit groups and organisations access to donations of tools and materials to help improve local spaces.
As part of the programme, the Aberdeen store has already partnered with the Aberdeen Football Club Community Trust, who were in attendance to open the new store.
The new store is located at Exploration Way and is open Monday to Friday 7am-8pm, Saturday 7am-7pm and Sunday 8am-6pm.
