Wickes launches hourly delivery slots
Wickes has partnered with On the dot - a one-hour delivery firm, owned by City Sprint - to improve delivery options for customers.
The service, named 'Wickes Hourly' is being introduced across the UK after a successful trial, and will be available seven days a week at a minimum cost of £9.95.
Wickes is the first DIY retailer to one-hour deliveries nationwide. In March 2016, competitor Screwfix confirmed a two-hour London delivery service was being tested, but said it had no plans to roll this out across the rest of the country.
Duncan Kendal, supply chain director at Wickes said: “We pride ourselves on making our customers’ lives that little bit easier and we’re excited to say we’re the first to market with this new delivery option in our sector.
“Whether you need paint or power tools, by partnering with On the dot we have been able to offer a range of home improvement products exactly where and when people need them.’’
Patrick Gallagher, CEO of On the dot said: “We know that consumers now expect to shop on their terms and it is retailers, like Wickes, who have put convenient delivery at the top of their agenda, that will succeed in retaining and attracting new customers.’’
