Two Board Members Depart Following Wilko Reshuffle
Retail Week has reported that Sean Toal (COO) and Sean Emmett (MD of Wilko Digital) have stepped down from their roles at Wilko.
The board shake-up comes a couple of months after the business announced a rise in annual turnover from £1,513m to £1,620m while pre-tax losses reached £65m.
Recently appointed Chief Commercial Officer, Andrew Moore, and Alex Russo, Chief Financial Officer, are understood to be taking on Sean Toal's workload.
Jerome Saint-Marc - the retailer's transformation director - is understood to be taking on Sean Emmett's activities and will work on driving Wilko's online business.
Lisa Wilkinson - family director - will take responsibility for the online, retail and HR divisions.
In October, Wilko created a new role - Customer Insight & Data Director - and appointed Neil Feakins to the position. A spokesperson from Wilkinson said of the role: “This is a great appointment for Wilko and further demonstrates our commitment to becoming a business more focussed on making products our customers tell us they need. As we prepare for our centenary year in 2030, we have set ourselves some new goals to work towards and are committed to making sure we have the right leadership, skills and experience in place to make this happen.”
A spokesperson for Wilko told Retail Week: “Sean Toal and Sean Emmett are stepping down to pursue their careers outside the Wilko family of businesses. We’d like to thank them for their contribution and support throughout their time with Wilko and wish them all the very best for the future.”
