Travis Perkins To Relocate Cheltenham, Mead Road Store

Travis Perkins, the UK’s largest supplier of building materials to the building and construction industry, is set to relocate next door from its current location. The new branch is set to open its doors on the 29^th November, while its heavy goods yard will be complete in March 2022 

The existing 18 strong team will transfer to the new site, and Travis Perkins has recruited an extra two staff for full-time positions, making a total of 20.  

The new branch is 2.5 acres in size, almost the size of two football pitches. The site will be a low-carbon branch and will boast solar panels, electric charging points, electric forklift trucks and a heat source pump, helping to deliver on Travis Perkins ambition of decarbonizing its fleet and becoming a net-zero carbon producer.

The branch will include a Benchmarx kitchen showroom, a new plumbing, heating and bathroom range, a tool hire service and a hard landscaping display.  Boasting over 25,000 products in stock, it offers a fast and convenient one hour click and collect service and next day delivery. 

Branch manager Sean Watson said: “We’re looking forward to opening the doors of our brand-new branch at the end of November. After occupying the previous site for over 50 years, this relocation means we can upgrade and accommodate more customers, better serve the local community and offer a modern working environment for our colleagues. The fact that this is a low-carbon branch is something I’m really proud of – we want to support anything that is beneficial to the community and the environment.”  

The branch will offer its full range of Bricks, Lintels, Drainage, Carcassing and Tool Hire and customers can choose to shop online, in branch or by using the new Travis Perkins app. The industry-first app has been designed in conjunction with customers to help them save time and work smarter by enabling them to check and order stock on the go at their personal trade prices in real time from their local branch.  

To welcome new customers, anyone that opens a credit account and spends £250 will get £50 off in the first three months, while existing customers will benefit by getting £50 for referring a friend.

Travis Perkins Cheltenham Mead Road will be located at Mead Road, Leckhampton, Cheltenham, GL53 7EB and open from November 29^th.
