Travis Perkins Group Announces Leadership Changes

Travis Perkins Group, the UK’s largest distributor of building materials, has announced internal changes to the Group Leadership Team effective from March 1st 2023.

• James Mackenzie, currently Managing Director of Toolstation UK has been appointed Managing Director of Travis Perkins General Merchant business

• Angela Rushforth, currently Managing Director of BSS has been appointed Managing Director of Toolstation UK

After a 28-year successful career within the Group, Kieran Griffin, currently Managing Director of Travis Perkins General Merchant, has decided to leave to explore new opportunities.

Nick Roberts, CEO of Travis Perkins plc said, “I am delighted to confirm these appointments from our experienced management team and the opportunity this brings to drive further collaboration and innovation opportunities across the Group. I am really looking forward to working with James and Angela in their new roles and extend our thanks to Kieran for the contribution he has made over many years in the Group.”

James Mackenzie has led the Toolstation UK business over the last six years. During this period he led the strategy to accelerate the development of Toolstation, enhancing the digital offer and transforming the trade customer proposition and branch network to more than double the turnover of the business, outperforming peers. He previously served on the board of Screwfix as Commercial and Digital director and held a number of senior positions in Kingfisher including General Manager – Kingfisher Asia and Director of Trading at B&Q. James is a non-executive director of Nisbets Plc and sits on the advisory board of the fintech charity Pennies.

Angela Rushforth has led BSS over the past four years. During this period Angela has overseen the development in particular of TF Solutions and the development of its technical service proposition including the creation of Design to Use. Angela’s previous experience includes time as Managing Director of Benchmarx and Ridgeons and several years as Marketing Director with both Screwfix and Wolseley.
