Travis Perkins, the UK’s largest supplier of building materials to the building and construction industry, has recruited 10 people from the surrounding area to fill part time and full-time roles ahead of opening its new branch in Exeter in August, bringing the total number of roles to 25.

The 10 new jobs that have been created include a branch apprentice, a Benchmarx kitchen designer, a yard manager, a tool hire driver and fitter, a HGV Driver and five yard sales positions.

Branch manager Dan Haggerty said “The increased demand for building supplies and the construction boom makes this a really exciting time to be moving to a brand new and bigger site at Exeter. We’ve recruited a fantastic and diverse team of 10 who have already started training. This will take our total team to 25 colleagues, who know the market inside out and will be able to provide support to customers across longer opening hours. We can’t wait to get ready to serve the local community when the new site opens in August.”

The site will be 2.5 acres in size, bigger than a football pitch and it also includes a Benchmarx Kitchens and Joinery, the company's trade-only kitchen business.

The new branch is set to open its doors at the beginning of August and will offer its full range of Bricks, Lintels, Drainage, Carcassing and Tool Hire and customers can choose to shop online, in branch or by using the new Travis Perkins app.

The industry-first app has been designed in conjunction with customers to help them save time and work smarter by managing their account on the go. Customers can shop online and easily manage their trade account, wherever they are.

Travis Perkins Exeter will be located at Hennock Road North, Marsh Barton Trading Estate, Exeter EX2 8NJ and will open in August.
