Travis Perkins, the UK’s largest supplier of building materials and equipment, has appointed Phil Tenney as the Group’s new Chief Information and Technology Officer.

He will join the Group in early 2021 and sit on the Group Leadership Team, reporting directly to CEO Nick Roberts. He comes with a strong track record in digital transformation and modernisation developed during his senior roles across a number of sectors including retail (most recently Asda), banking (HBOS and Lloyds Banking Group) and professional services (Accenture).

As the construction industry continues to adapt in response to the coronavirus pandemic, Travis Perkins plc, the owner of businesses including the Travis Perkins general merchant, Toolstation, Wickes, BSS, CCF, Keyline and a number of other plumbing & heating businesses, has made huge strides in transforming its use of technology for improved convenience, greater flexibility and simplicity for customers by investing in its digital infrastructure, including improvements to transactional web-based platforms and other technological capabilities.

Commenting on his appointment, Nick Roberts said:
“We are delighted that Phil will be joining us in early 2021 as Chief Information & Technology Officer for the Travis Perkins Group. He joins the business at a crucial time, when the industry is going through accelerated transformational change and we have a unique opportunity to use technology to help shape the next generation of merchanting.

“Phil will help to lead our work in this area and comes with a great track record in driving digital transformation and modernisation programmes. We look forward to having him on our team.”
