TP Hire Team Member Takes On Charity Motorcycle Challenge
In an inspiring fusion of passion and purpose, Derby-based Damian Ransome who is a Learning and Development Manager at Travis Perkins Hire is setting the stage for a remarkable fundraising initiative in 2024, all geared towards raising money for Travis Perkins’ charity partner, Alzheimer’s Society.
After his incredible journey last year, where Damian rode over 1,000 miles from Land's End to John o'Groats in less than 24 hours, raising over £3,000 for charity, he is embarking on a series of endurance motorcycle rides to rally for another cause close to his heart.
Between May and October, Damian will ride to as many as 80 locations across the UK, to fulfil the rules of the Brit Butt Tour, which sees motorcyclists undertake the challenge of visiting as many of those locations as they can in that time frame.

Damian Ransome says: “The 2024 campaign is not just about pushing my physical limits but driving awareness and funding towards Alzheimer's research and support services. Alzheimer’s is a disease that affects millions worldwide and requires urgent attention and resources. By combining my passion for motorcycle riding with this cause, I want to make a substantial impact.”
Damian is calling on individuals and businesses to support him in this crucial fight against dementia by donating towards his upcoming rides:
“Last year's ride was a testament to what we can achieve when we come together for a cause. This year, I'm dedicating my ride to Alzheimer's Society, hoping to surpass last year's fundraising total and shine a light on the importance of supporting research and care towards dementia."
Lizzie Pearl, Head of Corporate Partnerships at Alzheimer’s Society said: “We cannot thank Damian enough for his incredible support in taking on this epic motorcycle challenge! Travis Perkins colleagues have gone above and beyond with their fundraising efforts. We’re delighted to be in a partnership with such an amazing organisation full of inspirational people like Damian.
“The money raised will go towards funding vital research and support services, helping all those affected by dementia. It is an incredibly exciting time for dementia research as we are seeing for the first time treatments that can slow down the progression of Alzheimer’s. Funding at this time is vital to continue this game-changing research working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives.”
Sponsors will have the unique opportunity to align with a noble cause while gaining visibility through various promotional efforts. This initiative offers a platform for sponsors to demonstrate their commitment to corporate social responsibility and community engagement.
