Topps Tiles website is top five climber in Sitemorse survey

Topps Tiles, the UK’s leading supplier of tiles and wood flooring, has been cited as one of the top five climbers in the Sitemorse survey - boosting the company’s position by 187 places since the previous quarter review.

The independent survey ranks 500 retail websites based on function, accessibility, code quality, performance, metadata, and email. Topps Tiles’ ranking places it firmly in the top half of the websites surveyed. During the last quarter, the leading UK retailer has carried out several improvements to its website, including new designs for the homepage and product pages, clearer header navigation, behavioural tracking to facilitate recommendations, an expanding shopping basket, meta-data review and increased server bandwidth to increase site speed. These improvements have led to a strong surge up the rankings to position 201, surpassing websites such as Homebase (ranked 361), B&Q (417) and Wickes (424), as well as leading household brands including Tesco (232), IKEA (233) and John Lewis (252).

Beth Boulton, Head of Marketing at Topps Tiles, said: “We are thrilled with our position in the latest Sitemorse survey. We’ve invested heavily in our website development and are delighted to see it benefitting our customers by improving their online experience.

“At Topps Tiles we understand the importance of fast, accessible and attractive browsing across multiple platforms, which is why we have improved the speed of the site significantly with increased server bandwidth and refreshed the look of the site with new designs. We look to improve our ranking further and ensure a consistently great experience for customers and trade professionals”
