Toolstation Birkenhead wins branch of the year award

The Birkenhead branch of Toolstation has been named the national retailer’s best out of its 300 branches across the UK.

Toolstation Birkenhead was awarded the accolade following months of reviews and observations by senior retail management within the business. These were based on sales, performance and the consistently high scores and great comments it received from its customers in an independent customer experience survey.

Peter Bailey, branch manager at Toolstation Birkenhead, was delighted to receive the award at the annual Toolstation retail conference, and gave credit to his team for developing great customer relationships.

“Our team is really engaged with the business and our customer experience objectives. They take pride in getting to know our customers, treating them as friends – in fact, one customer even brought their new baby into branch to see us! We also have fun at work, and socialise outside, which is really important and helps with teamwork. I support the team in what they want to do, inside and outside of work and there have been lots of examples of career progression from the branch to other roles in the business, which keeps the team motivated and gives them something to work towards if they wish.”

Pete Walker, divisional director for Toolstation, echoed these comments, saying:

“Our Birkenhead branch has been trading since 2009 and has proved to be a great breeding ground for the region’s talent. Peter and his team have a real passion for achieving the best for customers, and each other. They’ve achieved double-digit sales growth each year by engaging with customers, generating loyalty and maintaining stock availability. Colleagues in this branch have been named over 120 times in the independent customer experience portal in 2017, which is a true reflection of the team’s connection with their customers.”

Toolstation Birkenhead is located at Unit 4, Commerce Park, New Chester Road, Birkenhead CH41 9BW, which sits amongst other branches in the region including Liverpool, Ellesmere Port, Aintree and Huyton. Toolstation recently opened its 300th branch in Eastleigh, Hampshire, and is the Which? Retailer of the Year. Its branch in Peterborough was named runner-up in the Branch of the Year competition.
