TJ Morris to expand Liverpool HQ
The company behind the Home Bargains discount retail chain has secured permission to expand its Liverpool headquarters.
Liverpool City Council's planning committee has approved an application by TJ Morris, which trades as Home Bargains, to develop an 8.4-acre vacant site on Axis Business Park between its recently completed warehouse and a tree-lined embankment next to the River Alt. The site was previously used by United Utilities.
TJ Morris is proposing to build a warehouse, a gym and sports facility and a vehicle maintenance unit on the land.
The warehouse would measure 73,750 sq ft, while the gym and sports facility would cover 24,101 sq ft and the vehicle maintenance unit would require 18,115 sq ft. This means the total area of the buildings would be 115,966 sq ft.
The proposal is expected to create 40 jobs in the new warehouse, 25 jobs in the vehicle maintenance unit and six jobs in the gym and sports facility.
