Tile Choice Expected To Enter Administration

A Midlands-based tile retailer and wholesaler has announced its intention to appoint administrators.

Tile Choice, which is headquartered in Wolverhampton, has filed a notice of intention (NOI) to appoint administrators via solicitors at The Wilkes Partnership. 

The retailer and wholesaler operates from a 30,000 sq ft warehouse and 18 retail stores across the Midlands.  

The act of filing an NOI provides Tile Choice with ten days in which it is protected from creditor action, during which the company can determine a way to proceed.

In the latest accounts filed at Companies House, covering the year ended 30th June 2022, the company saw £15.9m in sales and profits of £546,500, down from £16.9m and £910,455 respectively, in the previous year. One store closed during the year and the online business had seen sales decline following the reopening of retail stores after the enforced coronavirus lockdown closures.

Tile Choice employed 116 staff in 2022.   

The company website displays a message stating that the company has ceased trading, and provides an email address for customers to contact if they are waiting for orders.
