The T-REX Ferocious Tour 2017 – Extended into 2018

T-Rex Beast Tour

The first ever T-Rex promotional tour - “The Beast” has reached a successful conclusion to its 2017 tour after covering 20,000 miles to take tapes the length and breadth of the country.

Alan Murray, Head of Marketing at Shurtape, comments: “Our “Rexy vehicles have had a festive break, but the good news is, we’ll be building on the massive success of last year and extending the tour still further - to visit more parts of the country and stores (details yet to be finalised) in 2018.

In total, the tour took in 325 Travis Perkins branches, gave away over 50,000 samples of product, trained over 1,000 Travis Perkins staff and demonstrated to over 6,000 customers.

The Beast Tour started in February 2017 and took in nine UK regions, wrapping up just before Christmas. The Midlands, the North West, Yorkshire, the North East, North Wales, South Wales, central London, the South West and the South East were all visited by Shurtape’s fleet of Rexy vehicles, to give Travis Perkins staff training on the key benefits of the tape versus ordinary cloth tapes. Impactful demonstrations were given, such as the infamous ‘Breeze Block Challenge’, which helps users really feel the strength of the tape for themselves. It also gave the T-Rex team the opportunity to sample the product to Travis Perkins customers and get immediate feedback.“People simply don’t go back once they’ve tried T-Rex,” says Alan. “This is why going on the road is a hugely important part of our marketing strategy. The feedback from the end users and the Travis Perkins staff has been amazing and we are already booking up venues to visit this year.”
