Tesco To Expand in Thailand

The Mail on Sunday has reported that Tesco is to expand in Thailand.

Thailand is Tesco's grocery largest market outside the UK and is an attractive prospect because of its 'emerging middle class', according to CEO Dave Lewis.

Over the next three years, Tesco is planning to open 750 new convenience stores in Thailand, where it has had a presence since 1998 and employs 46,000 staff.

Around 10,000 new jobs will be created by the new stores and Mr Lewis believes there is further scope for growth in future.
