Taskers to open fifth store in autumn
Home retailer Taskers says its new superstore at Hunts Cross — in the planning for more than two years — will open late Autumn and be nearly twice as big as first thought.
The independent home, DIY and garden retailer is working towards a November launch for the superstore to the south of Liverpool, creating 100 jobs.
Its new store — which will be the firm’s fifth in all — will span 100,000sqft, nearly twice as large as the 55,000sqft originally referenced back in July 2013 when plans were still at the drawing board phase.
Taskers enjoyed strong trading in 2014–15, with year to end February profits rising four-fold to £779k as sales climbed 2.3 per cent to £17.3m.
In its accounts, the retailer said it had introduced a scheme whereby a quarter of post-tax profits would be shared among employees, as well as saying it was proud to announce it is to introduce a new wage structure, which will see it launch the ‘living wage.’
