Sutton Homebase to be replaced by The Range

The Homebase store in Sutton is set to be closed with the building it currently occupies re-opening as ‘The Range’.

Home Retail Group, which owns Homebase, has confirmed that the Station Road store is being closed down, although they did not give an exact date of when this will happen.

The lease of its premises is set to transfer to retailer The Range, subject to a number of conditions which include a successful consultation.

A spokesman said: “This proposed closure is part of the normal management of our store portfolio.

“This announcement means there is a period of consultation for colleagues affected by this proposal.

“As part of our agreement The Range will invite all colleagues affected by the process for an interview.

“Where possible we will also look to redeploy any affected colleagues at nearby Homebase and Argos stores.”
