Staff at B&Q and Screwfix receive Sharesave payout
Over 2,000 employees of B&Q and Screwfix are celebrating a pre-Christmas windfall following the maturity of two of owner Kingfisher's Sharesave schemes.
The schemes will pay out a total of £9.4 million, representing an estimated total gain of £3.3 million. This equates to an average gain of £1,573 per person.
Some 1,617 of the 2,147 staff benefiting from the windfall will be store based B&Q employees while 131 Screwfix staff will also receive a payout.
Store and head office based staff are set to gain up to £10,967 each based on the closing share price of £2.94 on 26 November 2014.
Sir Ian Cheshire, Kingfisher group chief executive, said: “I am delighted that our employees can share in the success of the group and benefit directly from their hard work. I thank them for their performance over the past few years which contributed to the growth and the profitability of our business despite the challenging economic environment.”
