Selco Launches Phase Two Of Reopening
Selco Builders Warehouse has revealed the second phase of its reopening process, meaning all 68 branches will be open in some form by next week.
Selco reopened 42 of its branches to support the delivery of online orders - through Click & Collect from branch car parks and Click & Deliver – last week.
This move will be replicated at the other 26 branches as of Monday while, on the same day, some of the 42 branches which initially reopened will allow customers into branch for the first time since March 23, when the business locked down due to coronavirus.
Chief executive Howard Luft said: “Every step we have taken has been in line with government guidance and with the safety and wellbeing of our customers and colleagues as our No 1 priority, and the same applies with this next phase.
“Both our customers and colleagues have been fantastic in adhering to the social distancing measures we have had in place at the 42 branches which initially opened to support online services last week, and Click & Collect and Click & Deliver under the same guidelines is now rolled out to the remainder of the branch network.
“We are also now in a position to start allowing customers back inside the 42 branches which have been offering a service since last week to allow customers to complete walk-in transactions.
“Again, there will be strict social distancing measures in place and we will be opening the doors to a handful of branches each day – starting with Tyburn, Baguley and Cricklewood on Monday - with a view to completing the process at the first 42 branches within a two-week period.”
At the 26 branches offering Click & Collect and Click & Deliver for the first time since the coronavirus outbreak, no customers will be permitted to enter branches and other social distancing measures will be in place for collections and deliveries. Any collections will be made from the car parks of those branches that are open.
For branches opening their doors for the first time, strict social distancing guidelines will also be in operation.
This will include a 2m distance being maintained between all individuals, no more than two customers allowed to enter the branch together, a limit to the total number of customers allowed in a branch at any one time and protective safety screens around the trade counter and tills.
There will be clear markings around the branch to guide people on social distancing regulations.
Click & Collect – from car parks only – and Click & Deliver orders will still continue at the 42 branches gradually opening their doors to customers
