Selco: COVID-19 Update

Selco's CEO Howard Luft has published a message to customers on the company's website:

We are now well on the way to fully re-opening the entire Selco branch network after our period of closure due to the coronavirus crisis.

As of today, we have 42 branches offering the full service of having the doors open for in-branch transactions, as well as the online methods of Click & Collect and Click & Deliver.

The remaining 26 branches are open to support Click & Collect and Click & Deliver orders. I can today confirm our plans are for the doors to start opening at these branches from Wednesday, June 10 at a rate of two or three per day.

The dates for the opening of each branch will be detailed on our website over the coming days.

Currently, our aim is for the doors to be open at all branches from June 22 and – other than a significant change in government guidance - I’m extremely confident we will meet that target.

A huge amount of hard work has been done to ensure we have reached this position and, as is to be expected, we have a comprehensive range of social distancing measures in place.

These are highlighted in numerous ways at every branch, supported by tannoy announcements, and include 2m social distancing, queue markers, handwashing and hygiene procedures and protective safety screens around trade counters and tills.

I would like to thank all our customers and colleagues for their support over recent weeks. It has been a trying time for everybody but there has been an outstanding level of compliance across all branches in the measures we have introduced.

Slowly but surely, we are returning to something approaching the practices we have become accustomed to and adjusting to what I expect will be a “new normal” for some time to come.

Take care and our best wishes to all the tradespeople across the UK as they continue - or return to - work over the coming days and weeks.

Howard Luft - Selco CEO
