Selco Adds New Delivery Service

One of the UK’s leading builders merchants has introduced a new delivery option to add to its growing list of services available to tradespeople.

Selco Builders Warehouse has unveiled ‘Click ‘N’ Deliver,’ which sees customers able to purchase bulky items and have them delivered to their jobs directly from branches at the click of a button.

Customers will place their order online, with any made before 3pm likely to be delivered on the next working day.

Carine Jessamine, marketing director of Selco, said: “We are always looking to enhance our customer offering and give them as many different options to purchase their products for a job as possible. Click ‘N’ Deliver certainly achieves that.

“We have offered Courier Delivery on smaller items for some time and that option will remain, but this opens up a wide range of larger items to delivery, including products such as sand, cement, timber and sheet materials.

“In the first few days of the service being introduced, we have seen some extremely positive results so there is every reason to believe this will prove very popular with tradespeople right across the UK.”

The Click ‘N’ Deliver service also bolsters Selco’s digital offering and will sit alongside Click & Collect.

Carine added: “The most important thing for us is to be adaptable to different shopping methods and a mobile phone or device is now playing an increasingly important part in the daily lives of many tradespeople.

“While we are aware that many tradespeople still enjoy that traditional experience of coming into branch and buying their products for their projects there and then, others are looking for a different approach.

“Click & Collect and Click ‘N’ Deliver are perfect options for those who are facing time pressures working on a project.”

With hundreds of trade brands always in stock and open seven days a week for a minimum of 80 hours, Selco’s 66 branches in the UK are firmly focused on helping local tradespeople complete their jobs as quickly and effectively as possible.

As well as offering trade services and a café in branch, Selco also has a strong digital presence which includes, as well as Click & Collect and Click ‘N’ Deliver, a free Project List app which allows tradespeople to plan, manage, and quote for all jobs – as well as complete purchases - through their smartphone.
