Selco Acquires Former Carpetright Warehouse in North West

A former Carpetright store in Salford has been acquired by Selco Builders Warehouse - the trading fascia of Selco Trade Centres.

Colliers International's industrial and logistics team handled the deal for the 19,671 sq ft site on Regent Road, Salford.  Selco's lease is currently 15 years in duration at a cost of £10.17 per sq ft.

The new store is expected to open in early 2020 and will join Selco's other north west sites in sites in Ardwick, Ashton-under-Lyne, Wythenshawe and Warrington.

John Sullivan, Director, Industrial and Logistics at the Manchester office of Colliers International, brokered the deal with Steamrock Capital Ltd, who owned the site. He said:

“Finding the right site for Selco in Salford was certainly challenging, so managing to secure such a prominent location close to the city centre represented a great off-market deal for all parties.”

Stuart Doolittle, acquisitions manager at Selco Trade Centres, said: “With Selco Builders Warehouses already established and operating successfully around Greater Manchester and Warrington, this store in Salford will provide our customers with a complete service across the city and further afield.

“This prominent location will already be known to many people and we’re planning something special with the signage to ensure it can’t be missed.”
