SCS appoints new CFO
ScS, one of the UK's largest retailers of upholstered furniture and flooring, is pleased to announce that Chris Muir will join the Company as Chief Financial Officer and an Executive Board Director from Monday 4 April 2016.
The appointment follows the decision by Ron Turnbull, Chief Financial Officer, as announced to the market on 12 August 2015, to step down from the Board and resign from the Company. Ron will remain in his role for as much of the current financial year as is necessary to ensure a smooth handover to Chris Muir.
Chris, 40, was appointed Group Finance Director of Northgate plc in May 2011. Northgate is Europe's leading specialist in light commercial vehicle hire and a member of the FTSE 250. He joined Northgate in 2003 as a Group Accountant and has since held a number of senior UK and group roles, including UK Finance Director and acting group CEO in the summer of 2014. He is a chartered accountant having qualified with Deloitte in 1999. For the year ended 30 April 2015 Northgate plc announced revenue of £614m and profit before tax of £83m.
Alan Smith, Chairman commented:
"I am delighted to welcome Chris to ScS. He brings substantial experience to the Board and will be an extremely valuable addition as we look to further grow and develop our business. I would also like to thank Ron for his huge contribution to the business and wish him well in his future endeavours."
Chris Muir, said
"I am extremely pleased to be joining ScS and look forward to working with David Knight and the rest of the team. The Company is at an exciting time in its development, with a well thought out strategy for growth and a promising future ahead. "
