Screwfix wins two contact centre awards

STAFF at Screwfix in Yeovil have been celebrating after scooping two awards in the South West Contact Centre Awards 2014.

The firm won Contact Centre and Support Person of the Year, with judges recognising its dedication to customer service and commitment to creating a motivated and supportive staff environment.

First established in 1979 the Screwfix contact centre has grown considerably, moving into a purpose-built building where it now receives around 40,000 calls per week.

Judges at the South West Contact Centre Awards were particularly impressed with witnessing a high commitment to providing an environment conducive to producing excellent results.

They said it was evident that there is a culture where adaptability to a highly competitive market was encouraged and embraced.

A spokesman said: “Staff at all levels were motivated to achieve excellence in service delivery and customers were put at the heart of operations throughout.”

Sasha Collin, communications coordinator, was presented with the Support Person of the Year award at the ceremony. Judges said she showed evidence of enthusiasm, willingness and adaptability along with determination and a high level of competence.

Andrew Ashby, director of customer operations said: “It’s a fantastic achievement to win an award like this, especially with the calibre of contact centres on display in the South West.

“The team here in Yeovil thoroughly deserve this accolade and should all be proud of the result.”
