Sainsbury's to open in ex-Focus store
The supermarket giant confirmed today that it hopes to begin work on a store on the Focus DIY premises in Markham Retail Park, Ryhall Road next month.
The new development will create up to 230 jobs and could be open in time for Christmas.
Sainsbury’s regional development executive Robert Oxley said: “We are delighted to be in a position to start work on the new store, which will hopefully commence towards the end of July.
“The development will improve the food shopping offer in Stamford, providing more choice whilst creating jobs for local people.
“We will keep the community updated as we progress, whilst residents living near to the store can rest assured they will be fully informed of the works taking place.”
The 20,600sq ft store will feature a wide range of food products, a limited range of non-food items, customer toilets with disabled and parent/child facilities, parking for 280 cars, including dedicated disabled and parent/child spaces, and shop front trolley storage.
