Richard Burbidge to cease supplying B&Q
During 2016, Richard Burbidge, the market-leading supplier of stairparts and mouldings, will cease supplying B&Q stores, as part of a strategic re-alignment within the Archwood group.
Archwood has a portfolio of leading timber product brands, including Richard Burbidge, Atkinson & Kirby and Masons, and is now aligning these brands to reduce duplication and to focus on core growth areas.
Commenting on the moves, Group Chief Executive, Steve Underhill, said:
“In the past two years, we have invested heavily in a centralised distribution centre, re-aligned production facilities and moved to a new commercial centre in Chester, which has given us the structure and resources to grow in new areas.”
“Now it is time to focus our efforts on key trade and retail partners who share our vision, who recognise the value of brands and who want to grow the overall market opportunity, especially for stairparts and flooring.”
“To reach the next stage of growth, we need to excite homeowners with the opportunities to transform their homes by investing in a stair makeover, in new flooring and other decorative features, and then support our trade and installation partners to deliver that transformation.”
