Raglan Garden Centre bought by Wyevale
Former GCA chairman Martin Davies has sold up to Wyevale Garden Centres
Gilbert Evans acted on behalf of Raglan Garden Centres.
The 6,000sqm centre located in Monmouthshire brings the Wyevale estate to 143 centres.
Wyevale chief executive Kevin Bradshaw said: "We are pleased to continue our growth with the addition of the award-winning Raglan Garden Centre, which has a strong and loyal customer base and an excellent reputation among garden enthusiasts.
"Known for its large range of garden-related products and renowned restaurant, which has dramatic landscape views of the Sugarloaf Mountain and the Welsh countryside, the centre is an ideal addition to our estate and we look forward to welcoming its customers and employees to our business."
Raglan Garden Centre has been owned and operated by Martin and Jean Davies. It won the GCA’s Best Plant Area Wales & West 2013 and Best Christmas Displays 2012 & 2013.
Martin and Jean Davies of Raglan Garden Centre said: "After 23 years at the helm, it’s time for us to take a step back and hand over the reins of Raglan to a company that can drive it forward and continue the success it has enjoyed.
"This is not without regret, as we have made great friends in the industry and we will miss them sorely. Our team at Raglan has been inspirational in making the business what it is today and for that we would like to thank them all sincerely."
