Pepco, one of the Europe's largest and fastest growing variety retailers, is now present in Germany. From April 28 its residents can shop in Pepco, in the shopping center Boulevard Berlin. The chain will open more stores in other locations in Germany this year. The further expansion of the brand will take place in Eastern Germany.

Pepco chain already has 2700 shops located across Europe and Germany is the 16th country where Pepco operates. The chain’s stores are present in Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Serbia, Spain and will be opened in Greece this year.

Since Pepco announced its plan to enter the German market, preparations for the opening of the first stores in Germany progressed intensively. The next few months will be no less intense. The chain plans to open more stores, mainly in Eastern Germany, e.g. in Chemnitz, and create up to 100 jobs till the end of the year.

"We are happy to announce that Germany has joined the list of countries where Pepco is present. We are looking forward to grow and open our stores where customer needs us, close to their homes – so everyone can clothe their family, decorate and run their home at good prices," said Aleksandr Cikaidze, Pepco Retail Director.

The range of the products in Pepco’s offer includes clothing for children and adults, underwear, accessories, toys, decorations, textiles and household items. The brand’s aim is to provide a perfect match of good quality and price.

The opening of the first Pepco store was very solemn – the ribbon was cut by Ina Orlova – Store Manager, Juliane Maiwald – Regional Manager and Patrick Steiger – Operations Manager for Germany. In the symbolic opening of the door to the first German store participated also Axel Haasis - Head of the the Unit Private Sponsors, Foundations and Companies from the German office of SOS Children's Villages, with which Pepco has been cooperating for many years, supporting children with a focus on educational programs and aid.

Pepco is known as a socially responsible brand, implementing CSR programs in every country it operates. The chain focuses mainly on assisting children so it cooperates with non-governmental organizations that help children in need, are for instance from families at a financial disadvantage or are socially excluded. These organizations focus on children's development, on strengthening their skills and competences and providing them with a special education, while increasing their interest in art, culture and sport.

"We are very pleased that PEPCO is now also contributing to the implementation of SOS Children's Villages' work for socially disadvantaged children and young people in Germany. This currently includes three of our important projects in the areas of education, empowerment and recreation in Berlin, Brandenburg and Saxony," said Axel Haasis, Head of the Unit Private Sponsors, Foundations and Companies at SOS-Kinderdorf e.V.

Pepco is warmly welcomed in countries where the chain is present, both by customers and industry professionals and organisations. For its actions, Pepco received several business and retail awards including Forbes`s Diamonds, Super Brand, Quality of Service Award, Shopping Center Forum Retailers` Award, and in 2021 has been chosen as one of the Best Employer in Poland.
