Nine consecutive years of growth for Ironmongery Direct
Ironmongery Direct has reported its ninth consecutive year of growth with turnover rising by 22.2% to £22.1 million in 2013.
The online and mail order supplier of ironmongery products attracted over 53,000 new customers in the year as online sales grew by 42% to £10.2 million with sales via mobiles surging by 115%.
Acquired by Manutan Group last July, Ironmongery Direct said it had benefited from the launch of a new app in April which had seen over 11,000 downloads.
Ironmongery Direct managing director Wayne Lysaght-Mason said: “Our performance has been driven by focusing on what our customers want and we have reached out to new and existing customers via a more flexible ordering process. In particular, we have extended our already market-leading cut-off time for next day delivery, introduced a free returns guarantee, as well as building upon the success of our mobile site by introducing our new app to enhance our offering.”
He added: “All of this has taken place against the background of a highly successful and mutually beneficial relationship with Manutan Group.”
