New Wickes to open in Newmarket

Home Improvement retailer Wickes is planning to open their latest new store on Willie Snaith Road in Newmarket on Wednesday 30th May, creating 30 new jobs.

The store, with a 20,000q ft  internal sales area, 5,000q ft mezzanine for their Kitchen and Bathroom ranges and 5,000sq ft outdoor building and gardening department, is one of the smallest new format stores opened to date by the company and moves their total store numbers to 248.

A spokesperson for Wickes said the store provides “an interesting smaller blueprint for all future Home Improvement stores”.

This Wickes development represents the first phase of a new retail scheme being undertaken in Newmarket by developer Hamilton Land. The store is located off the A14 via Fordham Road, a main arterial road into town.
