New Wickes Store Unveiled in Woking
Home improvement retailer, Wickes, celebrated the opening of its new-look Woking store with a fantastic family fun weekend.
The official opening, on Friday 22nd November, was attended by the Lord Mayor, Cllr Beryl Hunwicks, who cut the ribbon. In addition, there were face painters, balloons and cupcakes available to keep the whole family entertained as well as exclusive discounts, which ran Friday to Sunday.
Those in-store on Saturday 23rd November also had the chance to meet one of the UK’s most famous four-legged mascots, as the Dulux dog was in store for the day.
The new Wickes store features a brand-new kitchen and bathroom showroom as well as expert Design Consultants to provide advice and a free design service to help customers get inspired. There is also an in-store Dulux colour mixing service, and a wide range of new products, from stylish flooring to gardening items, to help create the perfect space indoors and out.
James Iveson, Store Manager at Wickes, Woking comments: “The new layout of the store will make it easier for customers to find everything they need, making shopping for home improvement projects simpler than ever. Plus with several kitchens and bathrooms on show, and a range of worktops, appliances and tiles on display, shoppers can find inspiration for their homes.”
Woking’s Volunteering Project at Knaphill Football Club
A group of young players from nearby Knaphill Football Club in Woking also attended the opening. Ten players from the club recently worked with Wickes and social enterprise VIY (Volunteer It Yourself) to improve its facilities. The project involved installing shelves throughout the club to increase their storage capacity. The Woking store also donated all the tools and materials required and covered the cost of professional tradespeople to act as mentors on the ground.
