New Wickes store opens in Braintree

HOME improvement retailer Wickes will be opening a brand new store in Braintree tomorrow (Saturday October 2), creating 23 new jobs.

The new store, located in Century Drive, is housed in the former SGT builder merchants’ site which has lain derelict for the past four years. The new Wickes store is 23,000 sq ft and features a comprehensive range of products for local tradesman and serious DIYers.

The new store boosts a 4000 sq ft showroom area, which showcases the Wickes range of 30 kitchens and 24 bathrooms, with two design consultants and three assistants on hand to offer customers expert advice and guidance. The store also houses a 4500 sq ft outdoor projects section, featuring big and bulky items such as fencing, decking and sheds.

Store manager James Degiorgio, said: “We are looking forward to welcoming customers through the door on Saturday, and helping tradesman and DIY-ers alike with a whole host of great quality own-label products from doors to fences and from kitchens to tiles. “We’ve got some special opening deals on products from hardwood doors to tiles and flooring.

Wickes in Braintree also offers customers a next day delivery service which provides both the professional tradesman and the DIY enthusiast with the opportunity to buy thousands of products, including large and bulky items, and get them delivered where and when they are needed.

The new store is open Monday to Saturday from 7am to 8pm and Sunday from 10am to 4pm. To celebrate the opening, customers will be offered up to 33 per cent of selected items from October 2 until October 5.

Customers will also be able to take advantage of the Wickes kitchens and bathrooms sale offer of 50 per cent off all kitchens and bathrooms plus an extra 15 per cent off the sale price*.
