New CEO for Wickes

Wickes has appointed David Wood as its new CEO, replacing Simon King.

Mr Wood is the former CEO of Mothercare, holding the CEO post for two months before sacked CEO Mark Newton-Smith returned to the role with a substantial pay cut.  David moved to the role of Group MD as a result of his return. 

Prior to Mothercare, David Wood was group president of US grocer Kmart Holdings and has held senior commercial, marketing and management roles at Tesco, Unilever and Kraft Foods.

Mr Wood has also held a number of commercial, marketing and management positions at Tesco.
