New B&M opens in Wellingborough

Wellingborough’s brand new B&M store in Market Street opened its doors at 9am this morning.

Ahead of the opening, store staff were asked to nominate a local charity they thought deserved special treatment for the work they do in the community and they chose a local lady Maureen Sanders.

She will be cutting the ribbon at the official opening alongside Wellingborough mayor Cllr Malcolm Waters. Maureen has spent many years fundraising for charity and took part in a zipwire challenge at Wicksteed Park last week where she raised more than £1,000 for the Motor Neurone Disease (MND) Association.

B&M opens in what was a former QD store and a Woolworths prior to that and has undergone a complete internal and external refurbishment programme.

The store opening has created more than 30 new jobs for the local area. B&M offers a wide variety of branded products including toys, food and drink, homeware, home improvement, pet products, health and beauty and seasonal ranges.
