MKM Redruth has officially opened its doors.

To kick-off celebrations and officially open the branch, MKM invited Johnny Cowling, the legendary local Pirate FM DJ, along with representatives from Redruth Rugby Club, to help cut the ceremonial ribbon and declare MKM Redruth open for business.

Patrons from The Heartlands Trust also joined in the festivities on the day. As a local business, MKM Redruth prides itself on playing a critical role in the community and has pledged its support to this local charity.

Heading up MKM Redruth are Cornish natives Mike Richards and Tim Bowden.  Both Tim and Mike have extensive experience in the building and construction industry, as well as expert local knowledge.

Mike Richards, co-Branch Director at MKM Redruth, commented: “It is important we give back to the region in as many ways as we can. That’s why we have pledged our support to The Heartlands Trust – a fantastic charity and family friendly visitor attraction that embodies Cornish culture.

“We were delighted that patrons from the charity were able to join us on our official opening day and we look forward to working closely with Heartlands, and other local charities, moving forward.”

Hundreds of people from across Cornwall attended the event, witnessing the fantastic facilities on offer and meeting the MKM Redruth team. Attendees were also treated to branded ice creams and Cornish pasties, while a fire engine from the local Tolvaddon Community Fire Service was displayed for visitors to enjoy.

Tim Bowden, co-Branch Director at MKM Redruth, said: “We are really excited to be opening our doors to the trade and public in Redruth and showing customers right across Cornwall what MKM is all about.

“MKM’s ethos is all about raising the bar when it comes to customer service and doing this in a friendly and welcoming environment. Ultimately, this means providing the right products, at the right price, when our customers need them. We are confident that the trade and public in Cornwall would have never experienced a merchant like us before and we are looking forward to serving the needs of the county, whatever type of project they are working on.”

MKM Redruth, located on the South Crofty Business Park, Kerrier Way, will serve both the trade and public across the length and breadth of Cornwall, including the Isles of Scilly. The new branch has brought 17 new jobs to the area, with the business still looking to recruit to add to its team.

The state-of-the-art facility provides a one-stop-shop for all building products, including heavyside, heating and plumbing, landscaping, roofing, electrical, drainage and civils, insulation and plaster board, workwear and timber, sheet and joinery.

In addition, the branch also boasts a stunning kitchen, bathroom and flooring showroom, offering a range of traditional and contemporary solutions to suit all styles and tastes.

This extensive range of solutions is complimented by MKM’s commitment to providing a friendly, expert and first class experience. Services available include; brick matching, free same day or next day local deliveries, home surveys and 3D visualisation to help homeowners design their perfect kitchen.
