MKM Edinburgh Launches Showcase For Symphony Accessible Kitchens

MKM Edinburgh has installed a showcase of accessible kitchens as part of an ongoing commitment to providing an inclusive service and offering. 

By partnering with manufacturer Symphony to showcase its Freedom range of kitchens, which are specifically designed to support independent living for family members with disability needs, MKM Edinburgh now has an offering unique not just to its local area but to Scotland as a whole.

Rather than adapted versions of existing kitchens, Symphony’s Freedom range is built around the end user from the outset. To highlight the uniqueness of this offering, MKM Edinburgh has installed a unique display pod that showcases the products in all their glory. 

MKM Edinburgh Kitchen and Bathroom Designer Mark Tait said: “This is a great step forward in our relationship with Symphony, who we have worked with for more than five years now. 

“From our first meeting regarding the Freedom range, we appreciated the passion, consideration and craft that has gone into its creation. 

“Standard kitchens aren’t accessible for everyone, and we all know this, so what we wanted to do was make sure that anyone who needed a kitchen space adapted to their needs was able to come and see the best on offer at our branch. 

“This is an exciting moment for us because we are the only merchant in Scotland currently to have these on display. We’re looking forward to welcoming our customers to the showcase.”

Key features of the Freedom range include electronic rise and fall worktops, accessible sinks and ovens with a pull-out heatproof shelf. 

The range has been created in collaboration with Adam Thomas Consultancy. Adam Thomas is the UK’s leading designer of accessible kitchens, with an unrivalled reputation for his innovative designs setting the standards for the industry.
