MKM Announces Branch Of The Year 2021

The highly anticipated Branch Directors event took place on Thursday 4th November at Rudding Park Hotel & Spa. The annual event is set to recognise our extraordinary staff across our 92 strong branch network & their contribution to the company through a series of awards.

Along with existing awards for ‘Branch of the Year’, ‘Most Improved Branch’ & ‘Best New Branch’ this year saw the introduction of a new award for Health & Safety to recognise commitment to excellent safety performance & standards.

Now let’s get onto what we’ve been waiting for, the award winners…

First up, Branch of the Year (main image) 

A huge congratulations to MKM Kilmarnock who took home the highly acclaimed trophy for ‘MKM Branch of the Year’. Kilmarnock came out on top for their outstanding sales performance along with outstanding customer service.

Colin Eggo MKM Kilmarnock Branch Director said:

Thanks to everyone that has supported us from day one. A special thanks goes to my team, our customers, and Central Support. We’ve got 92 fantastic branches and we are very fortunate & humbled that we were selected for branch of the year.

Most Improved Branch

In a category with no shortage of entries, it was MKM Blackpool that scooped the title for Most Improved Branch. Branch Directors Joe Keane and Darren Whiteside had hopes they would do well, but when the numbers were coming through during the year, they knew they were onto something special.

Hear what Branch Director Darren Whiteside had to say:

To be up there with the best of the best is a testament to our team and our brilliant, loyal customers. In an uncertain year full of stock shortages, and price increases for our industry, we have always been fair and honest with our customers. We never over promise, and we always stick to our word to ensure everyone can always get their materials. This award is just the start – we have given ourselves a target for our fourth year and believe that we will smash it.

Best New Branch

MKM Birkenhead brought home the award for Best New Branch due their amazing financial performance during their first year of trading.

Chris Winskill Branch Director at MKM Birkenhead said:

A huge thanks to our customers, the team at Central Support Office and of course the fantastic Birkenhead team. This all wouldn’t have been possible without their hard work and commitment to providing the best service to customers in the area.

Health & Safety Award

MKM Kings Lynn were awarded the new Health & Safety Award for 2021. This award was received due to their commitment to Health & Safety which is consistently reflected in their fantastic audit scores and their constant efforts to improve their standards across the site.

I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Damian, Andrew and Loren and everyone at the MKM Kings Lynn branch for winning the H&S award this year, and thank them for ensuring our employees, customers and visitors ‘Go Home Safe’!

A huge congratulations to all the winners and a big thank you to everyone involved in the planning logistics and preparation of the event.  It was a joy seeing everyone come together to celebrate everyone’s achievements, highlighting incredible things can be done when people support one another.
