Mereway Kitchens Close To Sale
KBB Review has reported that luxury kitchen manufacturer Mereway Kitchens has contacted customers to advise that it is in late stage talks to sell the company.
On Wednesday, Mereway filed a notice of intention to appoint administrators. The act of filing meant that the business is protected from legal action by creditors for ten days, giving the management team time to manoeuvre the company away from the immediate threat of liquidation.
An email sent to customers of Mereway stated that the business had filed the notice to give it more time to finalise a sale to an as yet unnamed buyer.
Mark Mills, the managing director of Mereway Kitchens, said that for legal reasons, the company had been unable to update customers sooner, and apologised for the lack of communication.
An excerpt from the email reads: “The deal will secure the future of Mereway Kitchens and the continued employment of its staff. The business will also benefit from significant new investment and customers can be assured that there will be no disruption to supply.”
“Since we were first established, Mereway Kitchens has enjoyed the support and loyalty of its customers over many years and the business looks forward to continue to supply you with high-quality kitchen and bedroom furniture for years to come.”
Founded in 1986, Mereway Kitchens is a family-run kitchen manufacturer, supplying over 100 independent retailers across the UK as well as John Lewis.
