Magnet Reveals New Look Store Format

  • Significant investment programme will see new immersive stores rolled out across the country

Following a record winter sales period, Magnet has strengthened its commercial estate with the design and roll-out of its new store format.

Starting with its Stockton store, Magnet will make a significant investment this year into a programme of new store formats and refreshments, with more investment planned for 2023.

The first three stores to open with the new format in 2022 will be South Wimbledon, Sale (Manchester) and Stockton.

The investment comes after Nobia Holdings UK, which owns Magnet, reported its best-ever winter trading period to date, with turnover at £417.3m up from £394m for year-end December 2021.

Magnet’s approach for its new store format puts design excellence and the customer at the heart, with customer feedback and design detailing informing every element of the approach. It is an important step in supporting Magnet’s stand out position on design, which is embodied by its mission of being Better. By Design.

Magnet’s new store approach is full of functional spaces and interactive areas that reflect how people increasingly want to be inspired and to shop.

Stockton is the first store to feature a fully working kitchen area, which will allow Magnet’s in-store team to demonstrate how key kitchen appliances such as instant boiling water taps and state of the art steam ovens, work. The fully working kitchen feature will be rolled out across all of Magnet’s new store formats.

Other areas include the ‘Design Studio’ which is a self-contained area where customers can enjoy the design process and an interactive ‘Styles and Materials’ area where customers are invited to experiment.

 This ‘Styles and Materials’ area is not only home to a huge array of options, but also has its own mood boarding area, compete with light box so you can view how your kitchen would look at different times of the day.

Finally, there’s ‘The Hideout’, a space to keep little ones entertained, complete with fluffy bean bags, TV and even a miniature Magnet kitchen so they can feel involved in the process.

Sustainability is a key consideration at Magnet with all the timber used in cabinets coming from sustainable sources and all showrooms running on renewable energy.

The launch forms part of Magnet’s wider strategic agenda which has a strong focus on design, sustainability and putting the customer at the heart.
