Local Franchisee Will Bring JYSK To Uruguay
In the spring of 2025, Antelo Group plans to open the first JYSK franchise store in Uruguay, which will also be the Scandinavian company’s first introduction to South America.
JYSK is already present in 48 countries across the globe with more than 3,400 stores. 20 of these countries and around 200 of the stores are operated by franchisees.
Next year, in 2025, JYSK Franchise will expand to country number 21. JYSK Franchise has signed a contract with Antelo Group, who already operates a number of retail chains in Uruguay, to become the local franchisee of JYSK in the country.
Frederik Kåre Kroun, who is Franchise Director at JYSK, looks forward to introducing the company to South America.
“Uruguay will be the first time JYSK expands to South America, and we will have a great partner for that in Antelo Group, who is already successful with other retail brands. We look forward to delivering our great Scandinavian offers within sleeping and living to a new continent with lots of potential and room to grow,” says Frederik Kåre Kroun.
Customer focus will decide success
Pablo Barcelona, who is General Manager at Antelo Group and will be responsible for operating JYSK in Uruguay, is confident that they will have success in the new country.
“We aim to create a wow effect when we introduce JYSK to Uruguay, and we believe that everyone around the world is always looking for a great offer like JYSK delivers,” he says and highlights the customer service level as a key factor:
“The way that JYSK stores are managed across Europe will surely be a formula for success in Uruguay as well. When you enter a JYSK store in Europe, you immediately meet competent employees who can support customers in choosing the right product for them within a wide assortment of sleeping and living products. That will establish a great presence for JYSK in Uruguay.”
The first JYSK franchise store opened in Greenland in 1984, just five years after the very first JYSK store opened in Denmark in 1979. Since then, JYSK Franchise has expanded to many different countries, mainly outside Europe.
