Lincoln Homebase confirms October closure date

A major retailer has confirmed it is to close its doors and leave the city.

Homebase, located in The Sidings, in Lincoln, has completed a consultation with staff and has announced it is to cease trading on Saturday, October 6.

It is believed that 29 jobs are now at risk but parent company Home Retail Group is seeking alternative employment for affected staff in some of its other stores, including Argos.

A statement issued to the Echo by Homebase said: "Following a consultation with colleagues over the past few weeks, Homebase can confirm it is closing its store in Lincoln on Saturday 6th October."
