Lidl Looking to Move in With Homebase in Christchurch

A Homebase store in Christchurch has applied to Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Council to reduce its floor space.
The Christchurch Retail Park store, located off Barrack Road in the town, has requested to divide the existing unit into two, cutting the store size from approximately 6,000 sqm to 3,600 sqm.
The plans state Lidl's intention to take on the smaller sized unit if plans are approved:
“It is proposed to reconfigure and extend unit 1 to create two units with Homebase downsizing and occupying unit 1b and Lidl occupying unit 1a,”
The store would be Lidl's second branch in the town.
