Lidl Granted Permission to Convert Former South Gloucestershire Homebase
Lidl is opening a new store in a former Homebase unit in South Gloucestershire.
The Longwell Green Homebase on Aldermoor Lane had been a clearance store since mid-2017, and closed at the end of 2018.
Lidl applied for planning permission to split the Homebase unit into two in June 2019 and the proposal was recently approved.
Work is set to commence within the next nine months, according to local press, and an opening date of autumn 2020 has been proposed. Forty new jobs will be created.
Glen Stidever, Lidl UK’s Regional Head of Property, said: “We could not be more delighted to have received planning permission, and look forward to getting started on the fit out.
"I’d like to take this opportunity to thank the local community for their continued support, and very much look forward to opening our doors and offering our fresh, quality, great value products in the not too distant future.”
