Kingfisher hosting a three-day Dubai buyer event
Retail giant Kingfisher is to run a three-day event next month in Dubai for 330-plus commercial managers from its Europe and Asia operations.
The event is being organised by Kingfisher's longstanding agency JB Events and will include a delegate visit to the factory of one the retail group's key suppliers, Rak Ceramics. Kingfisher owns DIY brands including B&Q, Screwfix, Castorama and Brico Depot.
JB Events director Paul Browne said: "We will be visiting the factory to see the operation and how they have become a best-in-class supplier."
The purpose of the trip is for Kingfisher to convince its buyers of the business sense of having a single, group-wide supplier, rather than myriad local suppliers. The trip will include a live presentation and conference held in the desert, where a stage will be erected.
JB Events is responsible for the logistics, coordination, accommodation, transport, catering and technical aspects of the event, which will climax with a gala dinner at the foot of the world's tallest building, the Burj Khalifa.
